John “JB” Bellico
John is currently a 2nd Grade Detective with the NYPD where he began his career in 2001. Now assigned to the Gun Violence Suppression Division, he investigates firearm cases city wide. Former assignments include the Queens Violence reduction task force & 100 Detective Squad. He is both a former DEA Delegate as well as the Current Brooklyn Trustee for the NYPD Columbia Association. He is the founder and the President of the Smoking Shields. He is married and has three kids. It is his goal to have a Smoking Shields chapter in each state by the year 2025. Currently we have chapters in New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Nevada and South Carolina, with more expansion every day.
Frank " Barbells" Oliveri
Frank is currently a Detective with the Westchester County Police and is assigned to the General Investigations Unit. Prior to joining the Westchester County Police, Frank served over 2 years with the NYPD where he worked in the 40th Precinct. In addition to being the vice president for the Smoking Shields, he is currently the First Vice President of the Westchester Hispanic Law Enforcement Association. In addition to the above he is also a champion masters level powerlifter earning several gold medals. Frank is married and has three children.
Ben has been employed by the Nassau County, NY Sheriff's Department since 1999 and is currently an Investigator with the Department. He is assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit which investigates crimes committed by inmates within the confines of the Nassau County Correctional Center or other areas utilized by the Sheriff's Department. In addition to being the Treasurer for the Smoking Shields Ben also volunteered as a Firefighter and Rescue Squad member with the Garden City Park Fire Department from 1990-2004. Ben has been a member of the Smoking Shields since its inception and was previously serving the club as a Trustee.
Dan began his career with the NYPD in the summer of 2001. Currently, he is a 2nd-grade detective assigned to the Detective Bureau's Tactical Training Unit as a Tactical and Investigative Instructor. In addition to being the recording secretary for the Smoking Shields, he also holds the recording secretary position for Blue Live Matter-NYC. He is married with two daughters.
Khalid "K" Ragab
Sergeant At Arms
Khalid is currently a Detective with the NYPD where he began his career in 2001. Now assigned to the 102 Precinct, covering Jamaica. He was formerly with the Gun Violence Suppression Divison. Besides being the Sergeant-At-Arms of Smoking Shields, he is the National President and founder of his motorcycle club, Vigilance LEMC whose focus lies on raising awareness, financial backing and support for the families of fallen officers. Family and public service are his goals. He is the father of two boys.
